Grown with tomatoes it is said to enhance the flavours.

Beautiful flowers that attract beneficial insects such as predatory wasps which eat common garden pests but also pollinate plants.

A great ‘companion’ plant; repelling some insect pests whilst attracting beneficial insects such as Ladybirds and Hoverflies.

Noted for attracting wildlife, Yarrow is one of the best producers of nectar in relation to the small space the plant occupies.



Dill (Dutch Mammoth)

Soft annual herb with a flavour said to be a cross between celery and fennel. Thought to improve the growth of brassicas and protect from pests as it attracts ladybirds and lacewings.

Dill is a great companion plant attracting beneficial insects such as,

Hoverflies, parasitic wasps and ladybirds.

Dill also does good at discouraging various unwanted pests, including cabbage loopers, aphids, and spider mites.

A very good nectar plant, which is great for attracting beneficial insects to the garden, such as hoverflies, which eat aphids, whitefly, blackfly, and mealybug.

All parts edible, bright blue flowers look stunning in salads and cakes.

Young leaves can be used in salads, a little like dandelion leaves.

Roots are famed for containing inulin and can be roasted to make a caffeine-free coffee alternative.



Vervain Verbena officinalis (Perennial Wildflower)

The small, delicate flowers are not to be underestimated. This powerful herb was one of Druid’s most sacred herbs and has a rich history in herbal and magical use.

Widley cultivated as a medicinal herb in medieval gardens and today often found in bedtime tea blends for its calming properties.
