A good ground cover plant for a shady area, likes soil that stays moist.

Habitat: Damp woods, hedge banks and meadows

Height: 10-20cm

Growth Type: Perennial

Position: Shade to semi-shade

Soil Preference: Neutral to calcareous

    Deep blue flower spikes are a favourite of bees.


    A caterpillar food plant of the Grizzled Skipper Butterfly. 


    May be found carpeting damp glades and meadows, where it spreads by means of long leafy runners.


    Advised to plant in informal groups to encourage recognition and attract bees, butterflies and other pollinating insects.
